Hello, all! I’m Reina Callier, a lifelong educator, explorer, and writer. I was born in San Diego to a family of dancers, and my obsession with literature and the arts started young. After attaining my BA in Classics from UCSD and working as a teacher at a small performing arts school for several years, I moved to Colorado to attend the graduate program in the Classics Department at CU Boulder. I absolutely fell in love with Colorado, both because of the incredible scenery and, more importantly, because of the wonderful colleagues and friends I came to know. In fact, I refused to leave after I got my doctorate! : )

I love teaching at the university – seriously, my Latin students are THE BEST – but I also love writing, and now that I’ve completed several works that, in my opinion, don’t totally suck, I’m ready to see if I can turn my hobby into something more. As a reader, I’m not picky when it comes to genre – I love horror, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, humor, and literary fiction – and my own writing explores many different genres, as well. I even write (really bad) poetry, but, because I care about my readers, they will never be subjected to it. Check out my Works In Progress to get an idea of what you can expect from me in the coming years. I’ll be posting excerpts, behind-the-scenes snippets, and blog posts here on the site; if you’re interested in following along, please lightly massage the Subscribe button on my homepage to be updated whenever I post something new.
